How do I place the templates on the fabric for fussy cutting?
Place the template with long side along the selvedge, the first row is for cutting the lightest color. The second row is for cutting the next shade. Place the templates on the right color and cut them.

Page 6 How to make Y-seams
Y-seams are stitched from ‘dot-to-dot’. Place the templates (A, D and E) on the wrong side of the fabric. Draw around the template and mark all sharp corners with a dot. Cut out the patches with a 1/4” seam allowance. When sewing together the patches, stitch from
’dot-to-dot’, lining up the dots from the two patches that are sewn together.
